Marking the occasion with a New Year’s greeting, Burton addressed the widespread speculation surrounding his daytime status. Encouraging followers to click the link in his bio for the inside scoop, he redirected them to a detailed report on Daily Drama. In a heartfelt Instagram reel, Burton announced the completion of his final scenes on Days of Our Lives, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew for the incredible experience.

Having portrayed Harris Michaels since 1988, Burton’s journey with the character has been both lengthy and memorable. Originally featured on General Hospital, Burton reintroduced Harris in the summer of 2022 on Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, Chapter Two. Subsequently, he seamlessly transitioned the character to the main series, which streams daily on Peacock.

Despite his departure, fans will continue to witness Burton’s portrayal of Harris, as Days of Our Lives operates on a filming schedule six months in advance. The character is set to grace screens well into 2024. While Burton remains tight-lipped about his next career move, he urged his followers to “stay tuned,” leaving room for speculation about a potential return to either Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless or reprising his role as Jason on General Hospital.

Burton’s illustrious career includes Daytime Emmy wins for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2017 (for Dylan) and 1998 (for Jason). Although Jason met his demise in a cave-in late in 2021, with no body recovered, fans are left wondering if the character might resurface in the future.
