John Wesley Shipp (ex-Kelly, Guiding Light; ex-Douglas, As the World Turns; ex-Eddie, One Life to Live) received a Daytime Emmy in 1987 in the category of Outstanding Guest Performer on the Daytime Drama Series for his role as a savage tennis player, Martin Ellis on Santa Barbara. “My heartfelt condolences, Jerry at this period of grief and healing,” Shipp posted on Facebook. “Thank Martinelli and I for #MartinEllis SantaBarbara. You certainly left your mark and assisted many others in making ours.
