A very Happy Birthday to Sydney Mikayla

This is due to the fact that she was born on Feb 1, 2003. That means she’s 21 on the 1st of February! After completing her studies in the performing arts at such legendary institutions like Debbie Allen Dance Academy, the Debbie Allen Dance Academy and the Amazing Grace Conservatory, Mikayla was offered her first role on camera in the year 2011.

It was a TV movie — and a possible series pilot, called Little in Common. Later work was followed by series like Parenthood, Hawthorne (on which Mikayla was the older version of Hawthorne’s persona), Community, and Hot in Cleveland.

After starring in the movie, A Beautiful Soul and an episode of Whitney, Mikayla won critical applause because of her appearance in Lifetime Original feature The Gabby Douglas Story in which she played her younger counterpart to the renowned Olympian.

After that, she could be seen on the shows Instant Mom Boys in Blue, Criminal Minds, Teachers, Game Shakers as well as Fuller House. Between 2016 between 2016 and the year 2018, MiKayla played a part in recurring roles in the Nickelodeon show School of Rock. She was a regular on General Hospital, a daytime soap opera General Hospital starting in 2019 but she stepped down at the end of March 2022 in order to pursue her studies at college.

Apart from acting in film and television shows, Mikayla has appeared in various theatrical productions that include The Wiz, West Side Story, Wicked, Footloose and Grease. She also lends her voice for a variety of animated shows, principal of them The Loud House, We Bare Bears as well as Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.
