Jason’s Return and More: 7 Key Moves for GH’s New Head Writers

It’s a new era for Port Charles!

General Hospital News February 8, 2024
General Hospital’s new writers have lots of options, especially with Steve Burton returning.

General Hospital has hired a new team of writers, Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte to guide the soap into a fascinating new era. In the course of their massive task ahead there are seven actions they must make and a few ideas to Jason Morgan’s return.

Here’s What New Writers Should Do

1. Let’s fix any career shifts that the former head writing administration did in the name of “storytelling.” Let Carly (Laura Wright) return to her position as the co-owner and owner of Metro Court and let Nina (Cynthia Watros) return to the helm at Crimson. Find a way to allow the barred Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) to be reinstated earlier than the waiting period of five years and then she can begin practicing law once more. Once Curtis (Donnell Turner) is back on his feet, let him dispose of The Savoy (or let Marshall manage the establishment) and get back to his more thrilling PI work.

2. In addition to switching roles and roles, the writing team from the past used to split the popular couples in order to form new characters. Although Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) have had a great time however, other couples shouldn’t have been played with. It appears that the timing is right to reunite Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly and Nina along with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). So, let’s begin with that.

3. If Trina (Tabyana Ali) discovered that Curtis is her real father, she said that it wouldn’t affect the bond she shared to Taggert (Real Andrews) who was her “dad” who was her father. But there’s not been any mention or glimpse of him over the past few the past few months. He and Trina did not spend time together during the holidays of Thanksgiving or Christmas or even invited to the party she had prior to her departure to Paris. It’s time to rekindle the bond they had. Perhaps he could help her grieve the loss of Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez).

4. Lulu (Emme Rylan) has been in a coma for 3 years, which has left Charlotte as well as Rocco motherless and Laura (Genie Francis) without her daughter. It’s high time that the fiery character is finally awake and can regain control of her life. The two actors Spencer along with Nikolas (Adam Huss) away from the canvas, this move will provide Laura an opportunity to concentrate on while she leads her daughter along the road to recovery.

5. The awakening of Lulu would also be just as Steve Burton’s re-emergence as Jason. It’s the perfect double-punch towards Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) stable, but stout relationship. Concerning the location Jason Morgan has been since the tunnel collapse at Cassadine Island, myriad possibilities are possible: an antagonistic crime family has convinced him to do their will, a shady character (Cyrus Renault?) is keeping him in captivity, and he’s suffered from amnesia…or something else.

6. Be sure not to keep Rena Sofer, or Jane Elliot go – anywhere. Their appearances on the show as Lois and Tracy respectively have been a major factor in making the House of Quarmaine an essential TV show to watch. Find ways to keep them at the center in a story, or at a minimum, on the page in a way.

7. Finally, what is it that a mistake was made with Gregory (Gregory Harrison)? Are fans willing to watch anyone go through the terrible deterioration that is associated with ALS or watch his family suffer through the pain and heartache watching the show? Fans have already witnessed the heartbreaking funeral of his father Mike (Max Gail) to Alzheimer’s. Being able to witness Gregory miraculously rescued at the last moment could be a tremendously encouraging. Maybe Finn (Michael Easton) might be instrumental in identifying the mistake and help save the father, similar to the other Finn, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Tanner Novlan, who recently brought Eric Forrester (John McCook, who was touched by the reaction from fans.) He is back from the brink death.
