Daytime Emmy Winning Writer Michele Val Jean Exits B&B

A seasoned scribe has been creating the future of a new generation.

The veteran daytime journalist Michele Val Jean has confirmed via social media that she’s going to leave her job on The Bold and the Beautiful. There are speculations that she could return to her former home soon.

Matt Hanvey, B&B’s most avid (and hilarious) lover, shared on Twitter his reaction to the news of Val Jean, posting in Instagram that the writer had left B&B. “It feels like it was yesterday when you joined the B&B team, but it was far away,” Hanvey tweeted. “Thanks for the many decades of writing scripts! I can’t wait to see the next thing you create!”

“Thanks, Matt. It’s been a wonderful journey. Thank you.” Val Jean replied, confirm the report.

Val Jean joined the B&B team in 2012 and was awarded 3 Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Writing Team for her contribution to the half-hour program in 2015, 2016 and in 2020. Her most recent award was for the infant Beth storyline. The episodes revolved around Beth being taken away shortly after her birth and culminating in the finale when Liam (Scott Clifton) and Hope (Annika Noelle) rejoiced that their child was alive.

The scribe began her writing career with Jake and her character, the Fat Man. Then she was a member of the writers’ team of Generations and after the show ended, she was writer for Santa Barbara. Following the popular NBC soap was cancelled, Val Jean joined the writing team at General Hospital where she remained until the year 2012. She won the honor of winning four Daytime Emmys and four Writers Guild of America Awards for writing for GH. In her time at B&B she was a guest on the tiniest OWN series Ambitions in which she was an editor and consultant producer.

Val Jean’s X former Twitter, now Twitter followers are making predictions about where she could land the next time. “Not likely to lie…my heart was racing an beat! We are praying for the GH return. We’re waiting for you to come to be back!” wrote Missy B. added Miag23 (AKA Luci): “Good luck Michele. I am awestruck by the way you write.” SoapHub joins Valjean’s followers in sending her best wishes in the coming years.
