Soap Opera Casting for the Week of January 8, 2020

General Hospital

General Hospital will air two special episodes to honor late actress Jacklyn Zéman and Bobbie Spencer. Ryan Carnes will return as Bobbie’s child, Dr. Lucas Jones on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th January. Last seen on the soap in 2020, Ryan Carnes is back as Bobbie’s son Dr. Lucas Jones.

Steve Burton has announced his return to daytime serial. In the near future, he will be resurrecting Jason Morgan.

Mark Anthony Samuels will also be back to perform at Bobbie’s funeral. He will be seen as GH Nurse, Felix DuBois, on Wednesday, 10th January, and Thursday, 11th January.

Adam Huss was the MIA Nikolas Cassadine last week. Huss had been hired in 2021 to replace Marcus Coloma temporarily. He appeared last in September 2023.

Lindsay Hartley also stepped in as Sam McCall for Kelly Monaco. Hartley isn’t the only actress to have subbed Monaco. In 2020 and 2022, Hartley briefly played Sam.

Days of Our Lives

Steve Burton’s final scenes as Salem policeman Harris Michaels were filmed in December last year, capping off his one-year deal with Days of our Lives. Burton created the character in 1988, and brought him back for the second season of the Peacock Special Beyond Salem: Chapter 2 in 2022. The show’s accelerated schedule will continue to air him through the summer.

Stacy Haiduk, who has been MIA for the past two months as Kristen DiMera is now back. On Tuesday, January 9, she’ll be seen in scenes with Eric Martsolf as Brady.

The Young and the Restless

Brian Gaskill will join the cast on Monday, 8th January as Seth. Nikki, Melody Thomas Scott’s character in Genoa City, will be meeting the newcomer to AA. Gaskill has a loyal following of daytime viewers. Gaskill played Rafe Kovich in Port Charles (2001-2003) and Bobby Warner in All My Children (1995-1998).

Colleen Zenk will return as the vengeful Jordan, on Wednesday 10th January. Hayley Erin’s Claire will be haunted with the memories of her evil aunt.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Adain Brad continues to bring the drama in his role as Xander avant. He will be back on The Bold and the Beautiful Monday, January 8 and Tuesday, Jan 9.

Romy Park reprises her role as Poppy Nozawa. She will air on Monday, 8th January.

Naomi Matsuda pops back in as Dr. Li Finnegan too. On Thursday, January 11, look for Finn’s mother (Tanner Novlan).

Samantha Cutaran portrays Nurse Tina in the hospital on Wednesday, January 10, while Gabriella Tranchina portrays nurse Rachel on Monday, 8 January.
