A Critic’s Review of The Young and the Restless: Cheats and Corporate Ladders

When it comes to watching Y&R Everyone has an opinion, and especially so as the most popular daytime dramas are in the matter of.

Adam Newman, Nikki Newman, Daniel Romalotti

when it is about The Young and the Restless each viewer has their own opinions about the show, and SoapsSpoiler.Com is no different. Over the course of five days, we watched the good and the bad, as well as everything between. Here, we are leading with optimism. But we rarely receive what we want. Here’s a recap of the week Y&R had.

What I’m Feeling This Week: Disappointed and Devastated (Daniel Cheats on Lily)

Okay Maybe I’m being too dramatic, but really, Y&R. Lily (Christel Khalil) isn’t gone for very long and Daniel (Michael the Graziadei) struck the floor along with Heather (Vail Bloom)? You’ve just destroyed my (battle)ship!

The first sign that things were beginning to shift this direction began with Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) began inviting Heather to Daniel’s home for the little things like breakfasts, cooking hot chocolate and sleepovers.

Another indication that things were likely to change, evidently the kiss they shared in the living room after having watched Die Hard. It was a tough movie to watch.

Third indication that things were beginning to change and then all of a sudden Daniel was hesitant to talk about his relationship with Lily! The couple hadn’t reached the stage of love yet. I couldn’t believe the things I heard. In all honesty, I was swept by the enchantment that was Daniel and Lily becoming one another’s first love and reuniting, taking each other back from the midst of their own tension.

Lily is currently helping her daughter through an incredibly difficult circumstance. Lily isn’t aware of the chaos which is waiting to be dealt with to deal with in Genoa City. It’s fine, I loved Devon (Bryton James) looking at Daniel in Society last week. Lily has him holding her until she returns. I was all in favor of his brotherly protection but even although Daniel was open about his cheating during his conversation with Lily, I’m dissatisfied.

The manner in which Daniel and Heather were talking during that lunch It was like fate brought them back together. Daniel was engrossed in the glow of the celebration. While Heather sounded like she was determined to get back to normal after Daniel (with a Lily helper) was able to get himself out of the downward spiral that he found himself in when he got married.

Yes, now that he’s fully recovered and atop the world once more, complete with a good mindset and a reason to live (his video game business) She’s back in the game. It’s known that “he’s the man she fell in love with again.” Wow. I’m in need of Lily to return in Genoa City sooner rather than later.

Other Y&R Thoughts

A baffling trend: What’s up with all the red rover-ing happening at the different GC companies? Seems like families are preparing for Succession-like circumstances at various corporations. Family members are leaving the onto the ship. Others have left their job to work in the world of business. What’s the reason?

Particularly, Billy (Jason Thompson) was a Chancellor-Winters employee who defected from Jabot. Chance (Conner Floyd) has quit as Chief of Police job to join and get a better understanding of business at CW. Kyle (Michael Mealor) is suddenly satisfied with his job as COO and his mom is now getting an enormous increase to the position of Co-CEO for Jabot. It seems like Audra (Zuleyka Silver) might be the strangest woman at Newman as Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) are trying their best with all their efforts to make friends. Are they going to eventually be a complete conflict in the style of those of the Hatfields as well as the McCoys?

Then there’s Nate (Sean Dominic) who lied to his family prior to moving to Newman returned to CW. Where are we going with this?

Still processing: In relation to Diane’s (Susan Walters) promotion although I love her but I’m not sure if I’m totally enthused about this decision. In all honesty, if Ashley (Eileen the Davidson) was not in such current turmoil with the fact that the lights went out during her wedding to Tucker I was hoping Jack (Peter Bergman) will name her co-CEO. Understandably, she’s preoccupied. And Diane being able to influence the town that hates her is juicy. We will definitely have to think about the power play a bit more.

Best Advice: I’m continuing to be grateful to my Y&R gods to be grateful for that Jack as well as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) goodness that we’re receiving both now and in the near future. It’s a bit frustrating however, I understand the reasons Nikki does not want Victor (Eric Braeden) to know that she as well as Jack are working together on her recovery. Additionally, there’s no way Victor is looking for anyone other than him to support his wife. This is why he has been dictating her work schedule and nights.

But Jack had some good advice for his former wife and friend when she questioned the discretion of his wife “You’re only as sick as your secrets.” Nikki should pay attention to Jack. Tell Victor.

More, please: Audra and Nate scenes. Their recent scenes show the impression of chemistry. I hope we get to watch more. I’m not sure if I’d like Nate to join the side of her, however I do like their enthusiasm.

Favorite Sisters: Ashley and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland). I’m sure they’ll have this spot for me. However, Ashley is in desperate need of assistance. She isn’t sure if Tucker is lying to her however, she’s going to determine. When Traci was sitting with Ashley during the trip ride to Paris It was an amazing moment. I am looking forward to what they discover. And I’m looking at that “he said, she said” business concluding. (hint, hint)

Take note of him: Adam Newman is the most content he’s ever been in many years. He’s employed at Newman He and Sally are back on track and he’s doing all to be able to work with Nick when they work together as Co-CEOs. He isn’t afraid to step away from voicing his opinions. In this week’s episode, he spoke about his thoughts on the Crazy Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) issue. His comments were met with a snarky response and/or disregarded. What happened? Jordan may be headed back to get revenge. What would it hurt Victoria as well as Nick (and Nikki) to allow Adam in to assist? One (formerly) dangerous person might aid in stopping a current diabolical individual. It’s just a matter of making a statement.

The Best Option: Audra giving up on Tucker (Trevor St. John). I do watch a lot British reality television — but not much but I do enjoy Love Island UK. They have a saying on the show where an individual suddenly loses their attraction to someone else due to something they said or did. The person who was a victim of the situation has given them “the ick.” And you’re unable to look back at the actions they took. This relationship will be forever ruined.

This is what I think is happening to Audra as well as Tucker. Tucker playing around with Ashley as well as the Abbotts beating him up and not paying attention to his original strategy will give Audra the cold shoulder. This is why Audra is able to let go against him instead of attempt to take his company from him. In my opinion it’s a great decision.

The most memorable breakthrough: Claire (Hayley Erin) wants Jordan dead. I’m extremely happy for Claire not letting go of talking to Jordan. We hope that she’ll be in a position to continue the conversation in the event that she does end up meeting Jordan in the near future.
