Soap Alum Justin Hartley Celebrates His Birthday

It’s been a while when Justin Hartley said farewell to the Newman family on The Young and the Restless. Now, the actor is celebrating a significant anniversary.

Happy Birthday, Justin Hartley

It’s because Hartley was born on January 29th, 1977, located in Knoxville, Illinois, which is a sign that this gifted performer turns 47 today! After attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale and the University of Illinois at Chicago, Hartley ventured to California to work in Passions, the NBC morning drama Passions.

From 2002 to 2006 he was the character Nicholas Foxworth “Fox” Crane and then, upon deciding to quit the soap and join the CW, he was a part of The CW Pilot for an Aquaman series called Mercy Reef.

While the show did not receive new orders, Hartley was cast on the network’s Superman series Smallville. In the show, he was the character Oliver Queen AKA Green Arrow and, during his time on the show as a co-writer on an episode called “Sacrifice” and directed another that aired in the year 2011 entitled “Dominion.”

Following the cancellation following the cancellation of Smallville, Hartley was seen in Chuck, Castle, Heart of Dixie, and Melissa & Joey. Hartley also played a prominent part in the series that lasted just one season Emily Owens, M.D. and was a regular on the two ABC serials -the series Revenge as well as Mistresses.

Between 2014 to 2016 Hartley has been Adam Newman on Y&R. The character he played was a poor man with a heart won Hartley a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actor category as well as many fans.

After being offered the role of Kevin Pearson on the NBC series This Is Us, Hartley quit daytime and Adam was believed to be dead after an explosion. Hartley’s other roles are CSI: New York, Cold Case, and the films Red Canyon, Spring Break down and A Bad Moms Christmas. Hartley has been re-admitted to CBS as a character in the drama Tracker where the actor will play the lead role and will premiere following the Super Bowl.
